Help for Non-Profits
- How to Invite Sponsors
We know how exhausting it is as a non-profit leader to keep the mission alive while constantly feeling the pressure of fundraising.
We are here to help you network with real estate businesses who will agree to donate back to your organization. These donations can be very significant and represent a new stream of income for your organization.
The next step for you is to recruit your network of business professionals. How to recruit your Spark business professionals:
The first step is to invite your business professionals to sponsor your page. In order to launch you will need at least one professional on board with you. The program works because professionals have made a pledge to your organization for any new client you send them.
We encourage you to recruit a minimum of 10 professionals so there is a robust presence on your page. This will make your efforts more successful as your supporters, staff and board members have a variety of services from which they can choose.
We encourage you to think about the following categories of businesses and seek to have at least one or more from every category if possible:
- Realtors
- Lenders
- Appraisers
- Builders
- Contractors (home remodel, painters, plumbers, electricians etc.)
- Insurance Agents
- Title companies
- Home Inspectors
Think through all the folks you know who have businesses in one of these areas. They can be board members, volunteers, supporters, friends or family. The more you invite the better! You can also have all of your staff and board make suggestions for sponsors.
Suggested script for inspiration:
The following script can be used as inspiration for your own phone/text/email conversations with business professionals or feel free to copy and paste into your emails/texts with some of your own language.
“Hi ________,
I want to invite you to partner with our non-profit. We want to send our supporters, volunteers, staff and board members to work with your business. I know businesses like yours often could use more clients and we have just signed up to be a part of Spark Giving, a networking site for non-profits and businesses who want to help each other. Our partnership would be simple. You would sign up to sponsor our Spark Giving page where we feature our partner businesses. We then point our network to your business through our social media, newsletters and other fundraising avenues. You, in turn, pledge a donation back to our organization for whenever you close a transaction with one of our folks. It’s a win-win for both of us! Interested? Go to Sparkyourgiving.com for more info and then sign up to sponsor our page on our link: _______________________.”
